ABC
“ABC” stands for “Achieving Behavioural Change”.
The TONE Scaffolding ABC initiative aims to enhance delegates existing training/ experience with an understanding of the influence they, as individuals, have on health and safety performance, and to develop a partnership in which all persons involved with projects will have an input into achieving the goal of “ABC” throughout the life of the project.
The ABC initiative encourages staff to:
Stop / Think / Access / Act / Report / Review
Red Amber Green
The Red Amber Green cards initiative aims to encourage a positive safety culture throughout the TONE team. The cards are available to all managing teams and operatives and can be handed out at the discretion of all employees.
Red cards represent serious misconduct and they prompt disciplinary procedures. Amber cards are used to let staff know that there could be room for improvement in their safety practices and Green cards represent impeccable safety behaviour. As well as acting as a tool for observing Health and Safety, they also motivate staff to achieve the highest HSEQ standards possible, with any members of staff who earn a large amount of green cards receiving an award. All cards are given to the HSEQ team for observation and action.
Near Miss Reporting System
The Near Miss Reporting System is in place as all members of TONE Scaffolding staff are responsible in reporting near misses.
All staff members have access to a Near Miss template and are able to fill one out and hand into the HSEQ team if necessary. Upon receiving the form the HSEQ team put appropriate actions into place to prevent reoccurrences. Any Near Misses are also discussed in managerial meetings.
Improvement Cards
TONE Scaffolding Improvement Cards are available to all members of staff, clients and other site contractors.
The cards can be filled out and handed into the HSEQ team; these allow TONE to hear feedback from numerous sources. Appropriate action is taken as a result of all feedback cards, contributing to the positive safety culture at TONE.
